Rare Disease Week February 23rd -28th

February is Rare Disease Month
HOW WILL YOU SHOW YOUR STRIPES?

RARE is Everywhere

1 in 10 Americans is living with a rare disease- nealry 30 million people, most of whom are kids.

We show our stripes during Rare Disease Month to raise awareness of rare disease and show solidarity with our fiends, family, and neighbors impacted by rare diseases.

But why stripes?

In the medical field, clinicians are taught to think horses, not zebras when they hear hoofbeats. Essentially, think about the most common illnesses when diagnosing a patient. In the rare disease space, we think zebras, not horses.

We invite you to join Hues and rare disease advocates across the world and #ShowYourStripes in February.

Ways you can #ShowYourStripes:

  • Take a photo in your stripes (zebra or other) and post it on social media with the tag #showyourstripes

  • Host a fundraiser at work to support Hues for Hope

  • Share posts from Hues for Hope, NORD, EveryLife, Global Genes, and other rare disease advocacy organizations
