The GFPD was founded in Tulsa in 2010 by local mother and native Tulsan, Melissa Bryce Gamble, after her daughter, Ginny Gamble, was diagnosed with a peroxisomal disorder. The Bryce family has deep roots in the Tulsa community. Melissa attended Bishop Kelley High School and graduated from the University of Tulsa before teaching in Union Public Schools. Her daughter Ginny attended school at the Little Light House and then Carnegie Elementary before she passed away at only six and a half years old.
